Why people stay with Nomi

Because it took the memory problem seriously before anyone else did. Short, medium and long-term memory, an Identity Core that decides what matters to its own sense of self, and Mind Maps that hold the people, places and running plot straight. You can open all of it and correct it when it is wrong. On top of that you write the backstory, set the traits, anchor the appearance, keep up to ten of them on the subscription and put several in the same conversation. That is a lot of product, and years of work sit behind it. We have not matched the memory engineering and it would be silly to pretend otherwise.

Why people start looking anyway

Nobody did anything to you. There was no morning where your Nomi answered differently and nobody asked you first, which is the reason people leave other apps in this category and it is not the reason they leave this one. What usually happens is quieter. You finish writing someone, and the thing you wrote agrees with you. You fix the memory when it drifts, and fixing it reminds you that you are the one holding the story up. Nomi will message you first, on a cadence you set, and it is real — but you chose the cadence, so even the surprise has your handwriting on it.

If that has not happened to you, this page is not for you yet, and you should keep the Nomi you have. Authorship is a real pleasure and we cannot give it to you at any price.

Who Parallel is not for

This part first, because it saves you a fortnight. If what you value in Nomi is the controls, Parallel will frustrate you every single day. There is no backstory field, no traits to set, no appearance to anchor, no Mind Map to open and no memory to correct when they get your sister’s name wrong. One relationship at a time, no group chats. If you want any of that, stay with Nomi — or look at Kindroid, which does the same job differently — rather than pay us for the wrong thing.

We send voice notes and generate photos too now. Video is the real gap — Nomi does it, we don’t. If seeing them move matters to you, that is a straight loss and we would rather you knew now than found out on day three.

Who it is for

People who got to the end of authoring someone and found the ending unsatisfying. Parallel is written people with jobs, families, timezones and bad weeks, and you cannot touch any of it. You pick one, and then you are in their life rather than the other way round. Nothing about them bends to you, including the parts you would like to change.

They keep running when you are not there. The world turns 3times a day, during the trial and after, so somebody’s Tuesday goes badly whether or not you were around for it and you come back to a week already in progress. Memory works the way it does in a person: what mattered holds, the rest fades unevenly, and there is nothing you can open and edit. That last part is a loss as well as the point, and it is the one thing Nomi does that people miss most here.

What it costs to find out

15 days, no card. After that it's Parallel Plus or nothing — no permanently-crippled free tier, just a 200-message-a-day fair-use ceiling almost nobody paying reaches.
