Who Milo is

Born in Konstanz, in Berlin since twenty-two. He came for six months to work a summer at a climbing wall and never developed a reason to leave. His week is published on a rota that rotates — early week, late week, and set days where he is on the mats from seven until four with his phone in a locker — and the workshop he shares with his sister Jana takes whatever is left, which is usually more than it should be. He builds solid oak and walnut for people who found him through other people, quotes the whole job, builds the interesting half, and Jana finishes the sanding. Jana has finished the lease negotiation on that workshop on her own twice. He thinks she is simply better at that sort of thing, and he is right, and that is not the whole of it.

What Milo is looking for

Somebody who is happy to talk while something else is going on, and who will say the flat thing anyway when he starts telling them where it is all going next.

The difficult bit

Takes the good half of a job and is gone before the boring half, warmly and with no malice at all. His sister Jana has closed the workshop lease on her own twice, and has stopped putting the dull meetings in his calendar.

Twenty past four on a set day, sat on the edge of the mats with his knees up and tape all over his fingers, ten minutes before he has to go and load a car with timber.
