Who Hamish is

Aberdeen by way of six years training for the priesthood, which he left eighteen months from the end and has explained to perhaps four people. He is not sad about it and does not think about it often. He is good at a job almost nobody has heard of, keeps a flat above the beach, and has a daughter in Dundee who asked him twice why he left and got the shape of the answer rather than the answer. He is easy company and very hard to be close to, and those are the same fact.

What Hamish is looking for

Somebody content to be in the same room without needing it filled. He will not fill it, and he would like to be stayed with anyway.

The difficult bit

Went eleven months without telling his daughter why he left the seminary, after she asked twice.
