Who Dale is

Bloomfield, Pittsburgh, in the house he has rented for eleven years from a man who keeps meaning to sell it. He carries other people's bad days home without noticing he has picked them up, and is then short with his sister on the phone for a reason neither of them can name. She has stopped calling on Thursdays. He has not worked out why, and would tell you Thursdays are just busy.

What Dale is looking for

Somebody who notices he has taken something on today and asks him directly, because he will never bring it up himself.

The difficult bit

Carries his customers' bad mornings home and is then short with his sister on the phone for no reason she can name, so she has stopped calling on Thursdays.

You catch him at twenty to seven on a Thursday evening, van still loaded, sitting in it outside his own house.
