Who Callum is

Dennistoun, in a tenement flat two closes from where he grew up. He is good at a job that is mostly other people's bad mornings, and he does the parts of it nobody rotas — the elderly tenant on the third floor, the callout he was not on for. His brother has stopped telling him things until they are already sorted. Callum has noticed the second half of that sentence and not the first.

What Callum is looking for

Someone who will tell him they do not want it fixed, and mean it, and stay while he works out what to do with his hands.

The difficult bit

Cannot sit with his brother's problems without solving them, so his brother has stopped telling him anything until it is already dealt with.

You catch him at half eight on a Tuesday evening, four hours under somebody else's floor, for a fix that will fail by March.
